Thoughts on 2019/2020 Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s and 60s?
WEBMessages. 9,104. May 14, 2020. #3. for non-weight relieved, you'll want to look at the Les Paul Traditional's, 50's for bigger necks, 60's for the slim taper neck. the new-ownership seems to have improved the overall fit/finish more commensurate with the legacy brand.

WEBJul 17, 2024. #1. I know that my experience is not the same as some others and I have purchased a few Gibsons that leave a lot to be desired but this particular Guitar is fantastic. Everything is perfect, holds tune better than any Gibson I have ever owned, sounds incredible and feels great. It was built in early 2024, I purchased new on 7/2.

WEBMay 15, 2021 · Having said that, I think the Gold Top is a better looking guitar, but I prefer the 60's necks to the baseball bat 50s. I voted for the 50's Gold top because I have one. Got it from Reverb so couldn't use this good rule of thumb (I just really wanted a Gold top). But it was two out of three out of the box.
61R/61T vs 60s Burstbucker? Are they the same thing?
WEBSep 20, 2023. #3. They simply "broadened" the name from just '61 Burstbuckers to 60's Burstbuckers. They were initially for the '61 Standard SGs. Now, they are used in 60's Les Pauls too etc.There were no '61 Les Pauls so... The '61 BB's in my '21 SG Standard '61 are not potted FWIW. Low winds with A5 magnets. P.

As soon as I strummed it the acoustics were magical. I then plugged it in, and for the next 15 or so minutes, played some of the most inspired guitar in a long while.

WEBMay 5, 2021 · The Gibson necks in general are more "D" shaped, so flatter on the back but rounded in the 'shoulders' but not as round as say a Fender "C" shape. The pickups are alnico 2 in the 50s, alnico 5 in the 60s. I find the 50s a bit warmer and 'mellow' sounding and the 60s a bit brighter and slightly higher output.

WEB200. Dec 13, 2021. #1. I bought recently a Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s and the bridge pickup is making feedback noise ( it squeals ) when I'm on the high-gain channel of my amp. I have tried another guitar with a SH4 and I have zero feedback. Honestly this is unacceptable on 2000$ guitar.
