On Tuesday night NASCAR announced the results of an investigation into Sunday's race at Martinsville Speedway. Following the investigation, NASCAR announced penalties for three different teams after they were found guilty of race manipulation during the Round of 8 elimination race over the weekend.

Charles Denike, a crew chief in the Truck Series, will replace Bootie Barker as crew chief for Wallace's No. 23 team.

This evening, NASCAR announced that the crew chief, spotter and competition director for Bubba Wallace, Austin Dillon and Ross Chastain will be suspended for the season finale this weekend at Phoenix. Additionally, each driver has been penalized 50 points and the teams have each been fined $100k.

Bubba Wallace and the 23XI Racing No. 23 will have a new voice atop the pit box next season as Charles Denike will take over as crew chief for Bootie Barker. Wallace has raced with Barker since the team was first found in 2021.
