The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is recalling several brands of organic whole carrots and organic baby carrots after it sickened 39 people across 18 states — resulting in one death, due to "Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli,

The affected carrots were sold nationwide in stores including Aldi, Kroger, Publix, Target, Trader Joe's, Walmart, Wegmans, and Whole Foods, just to name a few. So far, 39 illnesses have been reported, resulting in 15 hospitalizations and one death.

Grimmway Farms recalled an array of its organic whole and baby carrots over concerns of an E. coli outbreak. Recalled carrots were sold at retailers such as Walmart, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's.
