The Congress on Monday expelled 10 leaders from the party in Haryana for six years for indulging in anti-party activities ahead of the Assembly elections

Son of former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal and former power minister Ranjit Singh Chautala and seven other leaders were expelled by the BJP for six years on Sunday, over their decision to contest the October 5 state Assembly polls as independent candidates.

Congress MP Kumari Selja expressed confidence that her party will triumph in the upcoming Haryana assembly elections, criticizing BJP's decade-long rule. Citing public discontent under BJP, she reiterated Congress' commitment to ground-level work.

The Congress party has taken decisive action in Haryana , expelling 10 leaders for engaging in anti-party activities. These leaders, many of whom are contesting elections as independents, have been removed from the party for a period of six years.

The Congress party in Haryana appears to have a tailwind behind it. The over two crore voters will have the opportunity on October 5  to speak through the ballot. Who will the voters choose to govern for the next five years will be known on October 8.
