It’s been over a day since Hurricane Milton slammed into the Gulf Coast, wreaking havoc throughout the state, and over 60% of Manatee County is still without power.

Hurricane Milton's extreme winds left of mess of debris all around. On top of homes and businesses throughout much of Manatee County. Many residents braved long lines at any available gas stations to refuel for recovery efforts on Friday.

At the Warner Bayou Boat Ramp in Bradenton, the morning before Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall, waters rose high around 3 a.m. Rain poured down on the homeless and last-minute preppers heading to open gas stations in the dark hours of the morning.
