Al Gore called Bill Freeman a "a giant in our city," someone who was known as much for his role in helping Nashville grow as he was for his "commitment to ensuring that all of its residents could thrive.

Among his accomplishments, Freeman was co-founder of Freeman Webb Company, a real estate investment, management, and brokerage company. In addition, he ran for mayor of Nashville in 2015 and was a former member of the Metro Nashville Airport Authority.
