Netflix Inc. offices in Paris and Amsterdam were raided on Tuesday by investigators as part of a 2022 probe into alleged tax-related crimes and undeclared labor, according to a French justice ministry official.

Netflix is not the first multinational to come under investigation in France for alleged tax optimization practices. In 2022, McDonald’s agreed to pay $1.36B (€1.25B) to the French authorities to avoid criminal prosecution for tax fraud between 2009 and 2020. Deadline has contacted Netflix for comment on the reports.

Netflix offices in Paris and Amsterdam were raided in connection with a tax fraud investigation on Tuesday morning. French and Dutch authorities have been working together on the case since November 2022, officials said. Netflix’s European headquarters, located in Amsterdam, was part of the raid.
