After receiving the wrath of Super Typhoon Pepito (international name: Man-yi), Catanduanes is sending a distress signal amid widespread devastation. Catanduanes Gov. Joseph Cua reported on Monday that numerous houses made of lightweight materials were badly damaged as heavy rains and strong winds beat the island province over the weekend.

Super Typhoon Pepito (international name: Man-Yi) is set to make landfall over the eastern coast of Catanduanes on Saturday night.

SUPER Typhoon Pepito is expected to weaken after its second landfall over Aurora or Quezon later today, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Sunday.

In Pagasa’s 8 a.m. bulletin, Pepito is estimated at the coastal waters of Vinzons, Camarines Norte, based on data from Daet and Baler weather radars.

The whole country will see rains on Sunday caused by Super Typhoon Pepito (international name: Man-yi) and localized thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Super Typhoon Pepito has made landfall over over Panganiban, Catanduanes at 9:40 p.m. Saturday, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
