Texas State's talks with the Mountain West Conference have stalled, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel on Tuesday, and the school informed the Sun Belt Conference that it won't be leaving after the Bobcats program received a verbal offer over the weekend.

The Bobcats, currently of the Sun Belt conference, have received a verbal offer to join the Mountain West, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. The Bobcats have also received interest from the newly constructed Pac-12, but have yet to receive any sort of formal offer.

The Mountain West is looking to add a new member, and Texas State appears to be an emerging target, according to a report from ESPN's Pete Thamel. This comes as the conference received signed commitments from its seven existing members: Air Force, Nevada, New Mexico, San Jose State, UNLV, Wyoming and Hawaii.
