Prolific songwriter and guitarist Jack White on Monday announced he's bringing his unorthodox pop-up tour to the Bay Area this week for a pair of shows in Petaluma and San Francisco.

The surprise show, part of Jack White’s current tour of small drop-in concerts, is a “huge honor for the Phoenix,” said theater manager Tom Gaffey.

Jack White has announced ticket sales for two intimate shows in the Bay Area: On Oct. 3 at the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, and Oct. 4 at the Great American Music Hall.

Jack White is set to perform at a handful of pop-up shows at two intimate Bay Area venues in support of his latest album, “No Name.” The former frontman of the White Stripes is scheduled to perform at the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma on Thursday,
