Hundreds had already crunched through the fallen leaves of the graveyard during last week's early voting period to plaster their "I Voted" stickers on the headstones of Susan B.

The tradition of placing “I Voted” stickers on the activist’s gravestone began in 2016 and now attracts visitors from across the country. The cemetery uses plastic covers to protect the stones for Anthony and her sister Mary, then preserves the covers for display as historic artifacts in their own right.

Rochester, N.Y. Susan B. Anthony led the suffrage movement and her final resting place is always a destination for voters on Election Day.

A visit to Mount Hope Cemetery is an Election Day tradition in. While polls are open until 9 p.m., the cemetery will close at 5 p.m. prompt Tuesday.
