The funds will go toward new data centers in both Asian markets, serving also as cloud regions, and supporting developments in artificial intelligence.

Google is investing 36 billion Thai baht, or $1 billion, into Thailand to build a new data center and expand its cloud infrastructure, the company said Monday.

Tech giant Google said that its investments into Malaysia is estimated to support more than US$3.2 billion in positive economic impact and will create 26,500 jobs by 2030.
