Milton reached Category 5 status on Monday afternoon with 160 mph winds as it heads for Florida’s Gulf Clast. Bradenton is under a hurricane watch, storm surge watch and flood watch. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency for 54 Florida counties, including Manatee and Sarasota.

Jim Cantore is in Florida ahead of Hurricane Milton, a powerful, major hurricane expected to make landfall midweek somewhere along Florida's Gulf Coast. The Weather Channel said the famed hurricane harbinger touched down in Hillsborough County.
