The Manipur government extended the promulgation of the armed forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 (AFSPA) in the entire state, except in the jurisdiction of 19 Police stations in seven districts of the Imphal Valley,

The ‘Disturbed Area’ status under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act will continue to remain in place in all of Manipur except the area under 19 police stations in the state’ valley district, with the state government citing “violent activities of various extremist/insurgent groups”.
