India's first-ever commercial collaboration with SpaceX successfully launched the 4,700-kg GSAT-20 satellite into space on Tuesday. Falcon9 rocket lifted off from Florida's Cape Canaveral, deploying the Indian satellite into orbit shortly after blast off.

This is also the first time ISRO has developed a satellite that only uses the advanced Ka-band frequency, which has a range of radio frequencies between 27 and 40 gigahertz (GHz) and allows the satellite to have a higher bandwidth.

The Falcon 9 will launch the NSIL GSAT-N2 mission from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Monday. SpaceX said the rocket will send an Indian Space Research Organisation (IRSO) communications satellite into orbit.

ISRO is constrained by availability of other launch vehicles and operational limitations to launch heavy payloads.
