Texas death row inmate, Garcia Glen White, who avoided execution once before in 2015, is scheduled to be executed after 6 p.m. at the Huntsville Unit.

White’s life story mirrors that of many of the more than 2,200 men and women still on death row in America, as well as those of the 1,600 individuals who have already been sent to their deaths since the US Supreme Court reinstated the death penalty in 1976.

A death row inmate who stabbed twin teenage girls and their mom to death made a chilling final statement before he was put to death in Texas. While awaiting execution, White issued an apology in his final words to witnesses looking on.

Texas is set to execute Garcia Glenn White for the murder of 16-year-old identical twin sisters on Tuesday, which would make him the sixth inmate put to death in the U.S. in an 11-day period and the fifth execution in the state so far this year.
